What exactly is a reclining chair or recliner?

At Celebrity Motion Furniture we design and manufacture motion furniture. For over 25 years our range of recliners and rise and reclining chairs have been researched, designed and developed to provide a completely comfortable and incredibly relaxing experience by offering a varied range of different back, head and lumber support, all manufactured to the highest standards.

With our quality designs and upholstery and an incredibly smooth range of reclining and lifting recliner actions, combined with range of stunning fabrics and luxurious leathers, we are confident that we provide the most comprehensive range of reclining chairs and motion furniture available anywhere in the UK today.

Our Delta actions represent the latest word in action technology.
Developed by Omega Inc of America, these reclining chair actions offer a choice of 5 actions in both manual or powered electric recliners - all of which provide effortless relaxation in the reclining chair of your choice. And remember, all our actions are covered by our 5 year reclining chair action and motor guarantee.

Action 1 - Easy-open, easy-close manual action

Our smooth moving 'easy open, easy-close' manual recliner action

The 'easy-open, easy-close' manual recliner action incorporates a 'geometrically balanced' design which uses your own body weight to help move the chair to the recline position that's right for you. Additionally, all manual reclining chairs are available in a choice of lever handle or recessed latch operation.

Action 2 - Single motor recliner action

Our single motor recliner action glides effortlessly to the position of your choice at the touch of a button

Action 3 - Dual motor recliner action

Up to a 25% further reclining position and independent control of the back of the recliner

Due to its unique design the Delta Dual Motor Recliner can be moved to an almost flat bed position, with up to a 25% further reclining position than previously. Additionally, independent control of the back gives you an almost infinite variety of reclining positions.

Action 4 - Single motor lift and tilt action (rise and recliner)

A gentle lifting action and a wide range of reclining positions

The Single Motor Lift/Tilt rise and reclining option has a wide range of positions with the added capability of a gentle rising action to allow easy 'walk-in', 'walk-out' access.

Action 5 - Dual motor lift and tilt action (rise and recliner)

Rises up to 20% higher and recline to an almost flat bed position with independent back control

Celebrity's innovative dual motor lift and tilt riser recliner now rises up to 20% higher than previous models, making easier 'walk-in, walk-out' access. You can now recliner up to 25% further, allowing an almost flat bed position with the added benefit of being able to recline the back and footrest of the chair independently, giving an almost infinite variety of reclining positions. Furthermore, the Delta's 'smooth rise' action gently glides the user to the required recline or raised position.

* The Woburn Integral Lift model is only available in our "Lift and Tilt" (rise and reclining) actions and the Manhattan and Broadway reclining chairs are only available in manual and dual motor rise and reclining chair actions.

Celebrity recliners - Innovation in Relaxation

Now you can recline up to 25% further, be lifted up to 20% higher, have a relaxing massage, or your lower back warmed, and even lift up to 25 stone easily

In addition to our dual motor reclining and rise and reclining chairs being able to recline further and lift higher, almost all of our powered electric recliners are available with our excellent Relaxor Massage system, giving the luxury of a vibratory massage and lower back heat at the touch of a button as you rest. Or our Heat Pad option, giving a gentle warmth to the lower back while you lie back and relax.

All our power reclining chairs have a redesigned control handset, making it thinner and easier to grasp. We have also incorporated a RESET button to allow the chair to gently glide back to the rest position with a single button.

You will also find a bigger, more comfortable model, the Woburn Grande recliner, which is ideal for the larger person, with a seat width of 21" (53cm) and will easily lift weights up to 25 stone (158kg).

Most of Celebrity's reclining chairs also feature our unique 'wall hugger' action, allowing chairs to be positioned up to 50mm (2") from any obstruction and still recline safely.

Relaxor Massage System

Reduce stress with the comfort of a RELAXOR massage recliner - Scientific research has long established the importance of stress reduction, particularly with the sick and elderly. With this in mind Celebrity have now introduced the RELAXOR massage system on all recliner models (EXCEPT Aviemore and Hampton) in any fabric .

This new RELAXOR recliner massage system offers dozens of programmes to help massage away stiff, tired and strained muscles. Relaxing the body to allow the mind to ease into a state of quiet and peaceful repose.

RELAXOR State of the art ergonomic design

The Relaxor massage system offers a vibratory massage to 5 areas of the body from the shoulders to the calves, to help massage away stiff, tired muscles.

One control does it all

All you need to do is select the body areas you want to massage or if you prefer use the 'Wave' facility to give you a sequential, top to toe, full body massage.

You can also change the intensity and speed of the massage and there is even a heating element which can apply gentle heat to the lower back if required.

Q. I live in a flat, will you take my new furniture upstairs, when you deliver?
A. Yes, the shop4furniture delivery team will deliver your new furniture into a room of your choice, whether up or down stairs.

Q. Could you remove my old furniture when you deliver?
A. No, unfortunately we cannot remove old furniture. However, most good councils offer a furniture removal service that will arrange disposal of such items.

Q. Can I Get VAT Relief?
A. The zero-rating of goods and services for disabled people depends in part upon the status of the recipient, as well as the items being purchased.
